Itinerary
DAY 1
Your safari adventure begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport at 7:30 AM. You will embark on a scenic drive down the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a viewpoint for breathtaking photos of the valley floor. The journey takes you through the traditional lands of the Maasai people, offering glimpses of their vibrant culture.
Upon arrival at the Maasai Mara in time for lunch, you will check into your safari camp or lodge. After a delicious meal and a short rest, you’ll head out for your first game drive. The afternoon is the perfect time to spot lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they begin to stir for the evening hunt. Your professional guide will navigate the reserve’s hidden trails, ensuring you get the best opportunities for incredible wildlife viewing. You will return to the camp as the sun sets over the vast plains.
DAY 2
Today is dedicated to a full day of unlimited game drives. After an early breakfast, your guide will take you on an extensive exploration of the reserve. You will track the “Big Five” – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo – as well as countless other animals, including giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and gazelles.
The highlight of the day will be a picnic lunch served by the Mara River, where you can watch hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance. For those visiting between July and October, this is the prime time to witness the dramatic river crossings of the Great Wildebeest Migration. After a long and thrilling day of exploration, you will return to your camp for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
DAY 3
Rise early for one last game drive before breakfast. This is often the best time to spot nocturnal animals returning from their hunts and predators enjoying their morning kill. After the final game drive, you will return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and check out.
With hearts full of amazing memories, you will begin your scenic drive back to Nairobi. You will have a stop for lunch in the town of Narok before continuing the journey. You are expected to arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your incredible safari adventure.
