Itinerary
DAY 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi. You’ll depart on a scenic drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, taking you through the open plains and vibrant farmlands of Kenya’s hinterlands.Â
As you approach the park, the majestic snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro will rise into view, dominating the horizon and setting a truly spectacular backdrop for your adventure. You will arrive in time for a refreshing lunch at your lodge or camp, followed by a brief rest. In the late afternoon, you will head out for your first game drive. This is a great time to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, and a wide variety of birdlife against the golden light of the setting sun.
DAY 2: FULL DAY IN AMBOSELI
Today is dedicated to a full day of game drives in Amboseli National Park. After an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the park’s famous observation hill, a vantage point that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire park, its marshes, and the free-roaming wildlife below. This is an unparalleled photo opportunity with Kilimanjaro in the background.
The park’s permanent swamps are fed by underground streams from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap, attracting a massive concentration of animals, especially during the dry season. You will spend the day tracking large herds of elephants as they gracefully move through the plains. The park is also home to lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, and over 400 species of birds. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, allowing you to maximize your time in the wilderness. Later, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: AMBOSELI - NAIROBI
Enjoy one last early morning game drive. This is often the best time to see the mountain without any cloud cover and to spot predators returning from their night hunt. After a final, hearty breakfast, you will check out of the lodge.
With your bags packed and cameras full of amazing shots, you’ll begin the journey back to Nairobi. You will have a stop for lunch along the way before arriving back in the city in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your preferred location, concluding your memorable Amboseli safari.
